Abbotsford Extension Renovation, 2015

 

This project was shortlisted in the 2017 House Awards under the category 'Alteration & Addition Under 200sqm' as well as the overall 'Australian House of the Year 2017' category

This architects residence involves the extension and renovation to an existing free standing Victorian cottage in the inner city suburb of Abbotsford.

The project includes:

  • part demolition of existing residence
  • ground floor extension including kitchen, living, dining, bathroom and laundry
  • first floor extension incorporating master bedroom, ensuite and study
  • integrated timber veneer joinery including stairs cupboards, kitchen and laundry units
  • painted brickwork lining both sides of the new ground floor extension
  • vaulted ceiling to new lounge room lined with blackbutt timber cladding
  • large skylights integrated into vaulted ceiling
  • polished concrete floor with hydronic in-slab heating
